Every name is first and foremost a shelter. There is always a deep, personal hook in the names by which we are called into life. Something intangible that responds in one way or another to the unexpressed need to be seen, accepted, and protected. Destiny and destination together, a journey that becomes a landing. In Sanskrit, Shandi means “end,” but also “fine-tuning.” A closed circle, perfect in its completeness. Shandi leverages an astonishing sound spectrum of twenty notes, 13 above and 7 below, including 5 Ding. The extreme flexibility of the D minor “kurd” scale, recognizable and welcoming from the first contact with the instrument, is capable of unfolding a very wide range of sonic gradations: each one is a notch on the wall at the height of our desires, fully opening the door to the secrets that we are.

A rare and precious name of African origin, Kya means “diamond in the celestial vault.” The C sharp “pygmy” scale, both delicate and meditative, leans on and draws strength from the exceptional craftsmanship of the instrument. There are twenty notes carved on it, twelve are in the upper half and eight in the lower part, including two Ding. The result is extreme harmonic precision, capable of enhancing its patient and meticulous tuning. Every single note of Kya has the soul on the tip of its lips: for it is always our inner spirit that takes us by the hand and keeps in shape that emotional muscle that world history has taught us to call heart.

Originally, Rhonan meant “the whitened crest of the mountains” but history of the living has slowly bestowed upon it a dual meaning as “the seal of male authority and guardian of female fertility”. Rhonan brings the extraordinary versatility of twenty notes - 13 above and 7 below, including 4 Ding - carved in stainless steel and enhanced by the precious gold of his livery. Stability of sound, space, balance and consistency of every harmonic interval: Rhonan makes the most of his wide scale in E minor to create a feast for the senses, where melancholic echoes fade into a poignant vibration of wholeness and wonder, a moment of suspension in front of the open sea of the future.
